Plants and soil can pull carbon out of the air—that's called "sequestration." Kelp grows super fast and captures TONS of carbon. Healthy soil on farms and ranches stores carbon too. This bill PAYS the people who do this work: fishermen who grow kelp, farmers who build healthy soil, ranchers who use regenerative grazing, and Tribal stewards who've been caring for the land for thousands of years. 100% voluntary. Kelp Farming
$15-$50 per ton of CO2 captured. Bonus for fishermen who transition!
Shellfish
$10-$40 per ton. Oysters and mussels capture carbon in their shells!
Soil Carbon
$20-$35 per ton. Ranchers and farmers build carbon-rich soil.
Tribal Programs
